What We're Reading Wednesday {April}

I really can't believe it is already April....much less April 5th! But it is one of my FAVORITE days of the month!! It's time for another 'What We're Reading' link up!! We are headed to the beach in 10 days so I need all the book recommendations that I can get!!

Now, remember most all of the books I read are not for the faint of heart!

I read 7 books in March...That is just crazy! I'm not sure how I found the time but I did! I have already finished 1 for April! I told y'all I am a total book nerd!!!

So let me share with you what I read this month!

I finished off the Billionaire Bad Boys series by Jessica Lemmon.  I would say The Bastard Billionaire was my favorite of the series. I loved Eli and Isa!!

Here is the description from Jessica's website:

Eli Crane is one tough bastard. After an explosion left him injured and honorably discharged from the Marines, all he wants is to be left alone. Yet his brothers insist he takes a greater role in the family business. They’ve hired him ten personal assistants—and Eli sent each one packing as fast as possible. But when beautiful number eleven walks through the door, Eli will do anything to make her stay.

Isabella Sawyer’s employment agency can’t afford to lose Eli Crane’s business. Her plan: to personally take on the role of his PA, and secure her reputation with the wealthy elite in Chicago. But this beauty and her hot billionaire bad boy soon find themselves mixing business with pleasure in the most delicious ways. And passionate, stubborn Isabella won’t rest until she tames this wicked beast…

My thoughts: I love a good "cat and mouse" chase! so this was right up my alley! Not to mention he was a hot Marine. I love that the characters are both strong and independent but finally fully rely on each other.

Next, I read Full Package by Lauren Blakely.

Here is a description from Lauren's website.

I’ve been told I have quite a gift.
Hey, I don’t just mean in my pants. I’ve got a big brain too, and a huge heart of gold. And I like to use all my gifts to the fullest, the package included. Life is smooth sailing….
Until I find myself stuck between a rock and a sexy roommate, which makes for one very hard…place.
Because scoring an apartment in this city is harder than finding true love. So even if I have to shack up with my buddy’s smoking hot and incredibly amazing little sister, a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.
I can resist Josie. I’m disciplined, I’m focused, and I keep my hands to myself, even in the mere five-hundred square feet we share. Until the one night she insists on sliding under the covers with me. It’ll help her sleep after what happened that day, she says.
Spoiler—neither one of us sleeps.
Did I mention she’s also one of my best friends? That she’s brilliant, beautiful and a total firecracker? Guess that makes her the full package too.
What’s a man stuck in a hard place to do?
My thoughts:  This was a fun and flirty type book! It was a quick read. I often found myself wanting to shout at the book telling the other character that the other one loves them. Especially when Josie went on a few dates...but not with Chase.

Third, I read Blush for Me by Kristen Proby

My love for Kristen's books runs deep! She is one of my FAVORITE authors.

Here is a description from Kristen's website.

Blush for Me: A Fusion Novel

As the take-charge wine bar manager of Seduction, Portland's hottest new restaurant, Katrina Meyers is the definition of no-nonsense, and she isn't afraid of anything. Well, almost anything: she hates to fly. When she's forced to travel on a death trap with wings, the turbulence from hell has her reaching for any safe haven—including the incredibly handsome guy sitting next to her.

Ryan "Mac" MacKenzie hasn't been able to get his sexy seatmate out of his head. The way she clung to him stirred something inside him he didn't think existed: tenderness. As the owner of a successful wine touring company, Mac thinks he's got a handle on what life can throw at him and he's not prepared for any surprises, especially in the feelings department. And when he brings a tour into Seduction, he sees the petite spitfire he just can't forget.

Mac is determined to discover what else they have in common besides fine wine and the inability to keep their hands off each other. But what will it take for two stubborn people to realize that what they have is so much more than a hot chemistry between the sheets and to admit to falling in love…?

My Thoughts: I love this series from Kristen. Blush with Me is the third book from The Fusion Series. It is about a group of best friends that have started a restaurant called Seduction. You need to read the books in order. First, Listen to Me Second, Close to You Third, Blush with Me
I love how Katrina was about to get under Mac's skin and vice verse. I find myself wanting to be besties with this group of girlfriends! HA Mac is a wine expert and they meet when Katrina is on a Sexcation....trust me you want to read this series!!

Fourth, I read Sweet Rivalry by K. Bromberg...
It followed Sweet Cheeks that I read in February.

Here is a description from K. Bromberg's website

Ryder Rodgers had a plan.

He was going to stride into the conference room, do the required song and dance over the next five days, and win the biggest contract of his career. But when he walked in and heard the voice of one of his competitors, all his plans were shot to hell.
Harper Denton. She was always on top. In college. First in their class. Always using every advantage to edge him out to win the coveted positions. The only one who could beat him. His academic rival. More like a constant thorn in his side. And his ego’s.
When he heard her voice, he was brought back to years before. To the bitter taste of being second best. But the woman who meets his gaze is nothing like the drab wallflower he used to know. Hell no. She was all woman now: curves, confidence, and staggering sex appeal. And no doubt, still brilliant.
The fact that she’s gorgeous and bright won’t distract him. This time, Ryder’s determined to be the one on top. But not if Harper can help it.
My thoughts: I love how that after 13 years they were still wildly attracted to each other. It was fun how they or should I say Harper fought it hard in the beginning but they both ended up winning in the end.

Fifth book, I read this month was Jacked Up by Elle Aycart!
Oh my hotness! I love a good alpha male!

Oh Elle! Let's take a look at Jacked Up! Here is the description from Amazon!

Since James Bowen married Elle Cooper’s sister, tall dark and handsome Jack Copeland has become a permanent fixture in Elle’s life. A silent, rather annoying fixture, with his arrogant aloofness and my-way-or-the-highway attitude rubbing her the wrong way. So she does what any self-respecting woman would: aggravate the wits out of him.

Party girl Elle Cooper is everything covert operative Jack Copeland doesn’t want in a woman. Outspoken, sassy. A smartass. Too bad when he closes his eyes, all his mind conjures up is her. To everyone else, he comes off as intimidating and unapproachable. Everyone except Elle. So he does what any self-respecting man would: stay the hell away from her. But when Elle gets herself in deep trouble, all of Jack’s protective instincts kick in, and keeping his distance is no longer an option.

Elle’s already complicated life takes a downturn, and she’s given two choices: go to jail or stick with Jack.

With Jack and Elle in such close proximity, sparks are flying all over the damn place and it’s only a matter of time before they ignite. The only question is, who will kill Elle first? The vicious drug cartel hunting her or Jack?

My thoughts: Y'all start from the VERY beginning and meet The Bowen Brothers!! I love Elle! She is just amazing! I love all this series! The alpha male is huge! Oh, Jack.. I need to find where I can scoop him up and bring him home with me....do you think Ben would mind??? One of Ben's co-workers introduced me to Elle's books, so I think he would be just fine with it!! I don't want to say much because you really need to read this series!! Oh jack....What is it about you military men?

Sixth, I read Hard Limits by Elle Aycart!
Elle was sweet enough to send me an advanced copy. Hard Limits was just released yesterday! However, you must read Jacked Up first because of the spoilers!

Here is a description from amazon:

Nico Grabar, head of one of the most ruthless cartels in the world, is in the last stretch of a two-year nightmare. His agenda is full. He has a criminal organization to run. A cover to maintain. A promise to fulfill. Too bad he’s bleeding to death in the middle of nowhere, about to meet his Maker on a deserted street. A fitting ending to a bleak existence, really.

A beautiful bride, dressed in a thrift-store wedding gown with raccoon eyes and a choke collar, and covered from head to military boots in blood, rescues him. It's the Grim Reaper, made over just for him. What an honor.

Seriously. Who finds a frigging drug lord in serious need of resuscitation while coming back from a bachelorette party during the wee hours? Paige, aka Goth waitress at Rositas and a magnet for psychopaths, of course.

Paige has already survived one major asshole, narrowly escaping with her life. The last she needs is to have to play Florence Nightingale to a dangerous kingpin. What if he dies on her?

Or worse--what if he doesn’t?

My Thoughts: WOW, just WOW! I loved everything about this book! I love how she put a spin on the alpha male in this book. A drug lord just happens to be the good guy...go figure!! Again, you must start with The Bowen Brothers and the first one in the series is More than Meets the Ink! Elle really is just brilliant! Amazing writer!

Seventh, I read Light After Dark by Marie Force

Run don't Walk to Gansett Islands!! I'm telling you....myself and one of my besties have already packed our bags and ready to move there!! HA

Here is the description from Marie's website:

Mallory Vaughn is at a crossroads in her life. A year after learning that Big Mac McCarthy is her father, she’s spending more and more time on Gansett Island, surrounded by the large and boisterous McCarthy family. When she’s laid off from her longtime job, Mallory goes to visit her family on Gansett and tries to figure out the next chapter. An unexpected job offer will have her packing up her home in Providence to move to the island for at least the summer, if not longer. She decides to make this the “Summer of Mallory,” full of new adventures, new people, and new opportunities. Will a new love also be part of the Summer of Mallory? Anything is possible on Gansett Island, especially true love.
Take the ferry back to Gansett to catch up with the McCarthy family and their friends. Be on hand as Laura and Owen welcome their twins and the family comes back together for another summer of love and adventure on Gansett Island.
My thoughts: I'm still trying to figure out how to move there! This is the 16th book in the series (yes, I have read them all, yes they are all amazing, and Mac is my book boyfriend from this series) Seriously, this series would make a FANTASTIC summer series to read! It is the mildest of my rated R books! Fantastic love novels!!
Starting reading this series now...you will not regret it!

I told y'all I read a lot this month! I have realized that I need to give "my thoughts" for each book as I read them...not wait to do it all at once~

Also, I would have to say my top 3 authors of all time is Kristen Proby, Kelly Elliot, and Elle Aycart!! Bring on the alpha males....I couldn't love them more!!

Happy Reading!! I can't wait to see what you read this month!!
