Summer Vibes

Well, it's our last day of summer break. I can't believe my babies go back to school tomorrow. Today, we will spend the day getting haircuts, mani/pedi's, last minute school supplies, and making sure bookbags are packed.

So in the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and reminisce about SUMMER.

Right when school got out, we went to the beach...

We went to the lake as much as possible.

Ian finished his middle school golf league.

We celebrated Ben on Father's Day.

I went out for GNO!

We played board games.

We went on a road trip to Southern with Grace.

Ben and I went to Nashville.

We celebrated America's birthday. Happy 4th of July

We ate ice cream at Mayfield before they close the plant.

We painted pottery.

We hung out with friends as much as possible.

We squeezed in a few naps.

Ben and I enjoyed an overnight date.

We spent a long weekend at the lake with friends.

We visited my grandparents

We shopped for school, packed our bookbags, and made lunches.

Hello Monday | 5 Generations Edition

Hello Monday and Hello Friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend. We sure had a busy one. The kiddos start back to school this Wednesday. I have mixed emotions about it... We love summer so much but after 2.5 months of a free for all, we are craving a routine. I think that has been part of my "funk" lately. I feel like I am all over the place!

Anyway, I hope you will grab our graphic and join us!

Friday started bright and early because Ella had Open House at 8AM since I serve as PTO president I had to set up the PTO table for Open House along with the other board members. We recruited PTO members, volunteers, handed out a calendar of events for the year, along with selling spirit wear. The board members took turns going to visit their children's teacher. Open House ended at 10AM. We quickly cleaned up the PTO table because I had to run home grab Ian and go to his Open House from 10AM-Noon. I also serve on the PTO board at his school. We meet his home base teacher then I worked the PTO table. Grammy picked both of the kids up to take them school supply shopping! :)
I left Ian's school around 11:30, ran by Target to pick Ian up because he said Target was too crowded and he didn't care what his school supplies looked like to just get him whatever he needed!! #boys

Grammy and Ella got home around 12:30 while Ian and I waited for this to arrive...

The dehumidifier to dry up all the water under the flooring from the linking dishwasher.

I was really shocked that it wasn't that loud. It sounded like a box fan.

The rest of Friday evening looked like this...

Ian went back to school clothes shopping with one of his buddies and Ella getting all of her school supplies set up just the way she wants them.

She wanted a snack and someone wanted her to share.

Saturday morning, I was making my coffee. Each morning, I put a scoop of these collagen peptides in my coffee. Well, I thought they had just forgotten to add a scoop in my bucket but I finally found the scoop and felt the need to document it. 🤣

We left the house around 7:45 to head to Waffle House for breakfast and back to school clothes shopping at the outlets.
The kids each got new bookbags, shoes, and a few new outfits.

We got home late afternoon and I was exhausted so Saturday evening looked like this...

Reading and Wine

along with my 2 sidekicks.

Sunday morning, started with coffee, yogurt, Jesus, and Duke. 😉

Those ears just melt my heart.

We were at church by 9:30 for the 125th Anniversary service. Previous Pastors preached along with our current pastor. The music was awesome. We were so thankful that we were apart of this special event.

After church, my guys headed to the golf course while Ella and I went to visit my grandparents at the nursing home. We met my mom, my aunt, my sister, my brother in law, my nephew and his wife but most important we got to see this handsome guy...

HUNTER!

My sister has been wanting to take a 5 generation picture so we made sure to get it yesterday.

My Grandparents
My Mom
My Sister
My Nephew
My Great Nephew

These 2 people are a true example of LOVE.
They love Jesus, they love each other, they love their family, they loved to serve and spread the gossip every chance they got, they love to sing and play the guitar.... and we love them so much.

They say the key to a long marriage is to kiss each other every morning. Every morning, one of their nurses wheels my grandfather over to my grandmother so he can give her a kiss.

I pray in 67 years, Ben is still holding my hand. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in January.

After we got home, I did a few loads of laundry, a clean sweep of the house, & made my to-do list for the week.

What was something fun you did this weekend? When do your kids go back to school??
