Oh Ship, It's a President's Trip | Days 1-4

Happy Tuesday Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start. It's rough getting back into the swing of things after a holiday! But hey, we only have 3 more weeks until we are out for 2.5 weeks. YIPEE!

I mentioned before and you might have followed along on IG. while Ben and I were away for an 8 day/7 night cruise for his President's Trip for work. It's a trip that he earns every year and I am so proud of him for it.

Today I am finally getting around to recapping Days 1-4 of our trip.

Sunday, November 4th- Day 1.

We got to the Atlanta airport bright and early for our 10:55am flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico. We arrived in San Juan around 3:15PM.

After getting our luggage and riding a shuttle to the port we finally we able to get on the ship around 4:30ish. We were aboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas. We departed San Juan at 8:30PM.

After the mandatory safety drill, we found the nearest bar and enjoyed a few drinks while we waited for our luggage to arrive. Shrek kept us entertained.

8:30PM was our dining time in the main dining room. After dinner, Ben and I walked around the ship checking everything out. On the top deck of the ship, we found a huge screen showing The Packers game. We were really hoping they would show the Georgia game on this screen but no such luck.

It was around 11PM when we finally fell into bed and just FYI- the mattress felt like you were sleeping on plywood.

Monday, November 5, 2018- Day 2.

The ship arrived in St. Kitts at 9AM. St. Kitts is short for St. Christopher. This was Ben and I's 3rd time visiting St. Kitts and this might be a little TMI but Ella was conceived in St. Kitt's back in 2007.

More than half of our group headed to the Marriot. We purchased a day pass and were able to use their pool and other facilities.

We enjoyed an open-air bus ride to the resort. Love my honey.

We took a detour to see where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribean Sea meet. but not before we saw a monkey on a donkey. 🤣🤣

Atlantic ocean on the left; Caribean Sea on the right.

Joe and Donna

Inside the Marriott. It is a beautiful resort.

On the way back to the ship around 3PM was rather interesting. The gang all showed up to the Marriott at different times but we all wanted to leave at the same time so we were PACKED in the open air bus.

Me and Melissa.

I told y'all it was WILD. Dancing and Singing...

We had so many people that we had to put one of Ben's coworkers, Michael, in the front seat of the bus and he had to hold a box.

Our ship was so pretty as we were coming back to port.

Leaving St. Kitts...

Ben and I went to dinner at The Windjammer. It was a buffet style restaurant. Then we ended up back at the pool bar for drinks and to watch Monday night football.

When we got back to our room look what we found...

Tuesday, November 6th-Day 3

At 8AM we were in Antigua. After a yummy breakfast, we got off the ship and meet our gang for an all-day Catamaran Cruise with a lobster lunch. The island of Antigua has 365 beaches. I mean you could go to a different beach every day of the year. The island was breathtakingly beautiful.

The weather started off absolutely BEAUTIFUL but on our way back to port it came a DOWNPOUR.

We stopped at our first beach of the day and enjoyed swimming and a cocktail. I poured mine into my super cute wine tumbler.

and in case anyone was wondering, I helped drive us back to safety in the DOWNPOUR. Just look at the roof above my head.

Tuesday evening we were EXHAUSTED so Ben and I stayed in our room. Ben fell asleep super early so I ran down and got pizza and wine and enjoyed it on our little patio while reading my kindle.

Wednesday, November 7-Day 4

We arrived in St. Lucia at 9AM. We had nothing planned for this day so we decided to walk to the "downtown" area. It wasn't a long walk but it was HOT.

Coming into port.

After our little walk into the downtown area we decided to come back on board.

and shimmed up to the pool bar with some of my favorite girls.

a little wine and a little reading... not a bad way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday evening, Ben headed to the casino and I met a few of the other girls to watch the Ice Skating Show. It was spectacular.

After the show, we all met for a big group photo and then went to dinner in the main dining room.

That completes Day 4. As you can see we were not having any fun at all! 😉

I will recap Days 5-8 next week.
