April Book Review

Happy Tuesday Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! It's the last Tuesday of the month so I am sharing my monthly book review! If you're new around here. I read a mixture of daily devotionals, personal development books, and romance. Usually my romance is a little on the R side. 😉

Make sure to follow me on Goodreads and I also share the books I read on Instastories, as well.

100 Days to Brave

I finished 100 Days to Brave for the second time on April 10th.

Amazon:You were always meant to be brave.
Whether you're making a major decision, dealing with a difficult transition, or facing a fear, 100 Days toBrave will give you courage and confidence to move forward.
Annie F. Downs felt her challenges were too difficult, too scary, too much. Then she decided to stop allowing fear to hold her back. It wasn't easy or simple. But it was good.
With honesty and relatable humor, this compilation of best-of writings and new pieces from Annie will give you the inspiration to embrace the path and the plan God has for you and experience personal growth.
Dare to spend the next 100 days discovering that you are braver than you know and stronger than you thought possible.

Heather: I LOVED this book. It really hit me hard because I am working really hard this year on being Brave in my life; my health, my blog, my business.

I shared this review here. Super Cute Book and I'm about to read the second book in this series; Sweet Home Louisiana.

Amazon: Bure’s healthy lifestyle has been featured in US Weekly and People magazines as well as national talk shows including The View and NBC’s Today. In Reshaping It All, she continues the story, inspiring women to embrace a healthier lifestyle by moving faith to the forefront, making wise choices, and finding their worth in the eyes of God. Candace shares a candid account of her struggle with food and ultimately her healthy outlook on weight despite the toothpick-thin expectations of Hollywood.

More than a testimony, here is a motivational tool that will put readers on the right track and keep them there. In addition to practical advice, Candace offers a biblical perspective on appetite and self control that provides encouragement to women, guiding them toward freedom.

Heather: I can't say enough POSITIVE things about this book. It has TRULY helped my reshape the way I look at food. It has made me conscious of what I put into my body. If anyone is struggling with eating better and adding more exercising into their daily life. I HIGHLY recommend this book. This was also my second time reading this book.

Seduce Me:

Amazon: I walked out of Tucker Middleton’s bedroom seven years ago, leaving him hurt and angry. Now I need his help; the only way I can get it, is to make him think I want him back.

The only problem is we have silently vowed to hate one another for the rest of our lives. In order to get Tucker to help me—I have to seduce him.

Charleston Monroe is playing me for a fool. If she believes for one second I’m going to let her walk into my life to help her save the very job that ripped her away from me, she’s got another thing coming.

She thinks she can seduce me, and I let her believe she can. After all, I’m getting what I’ve always wanted.

Heather: Y'all know my love for Kelly Elliott runs deep but this book felt a lot like a cat and mouse chase. It took me a while to read it because I just couldn't keep my focus on it.

Entice Me:

Amazon:Since the moment Kaelynn Dotson walked into my world, I haven’t
been able to think, eat, or sleep. After having my heart broken by
the only woman I’ve ever loved, Kaelynn has ignited something deep
down inside me—a flame so hot that I cannot ignore, no matter how
hard I try.

I vowed to never open myself up to a woman again, but there’s
something about Kaelynn that is drawing me to her.

There’s just one problem.

She’s hiding something from me. Trust is something I need, but
when it comes to Kaelynn, all the lines seem to be blurred. I know I
should take this as a warning and walk away, but for some reason, it’s
only enticing me more.

I’m living a lie.

I’m not the girl from a middle-class family in Utah like Nash thinks. I’m
the heiress to a billion-dollar fortune, and that’s not what he’s looking for. He’s
had that before, and it left him scarred.

If the truth comes out, I’ll lose the only man I’ve ever fallen in love
with . . . I’m not sure I’m willing to give him up.

Heather: This one I like a whole lot better. I loved watching Nash get over a broken heart to realize that he never really loved Lily to begin with. His world began and ended with Kaelyn.

Amazon:  How would your life be different if you were just a bit happier every day for a year? What would you do to enjoy life just a little more day by day? Take your first step toward increased happiness with The Year of Living Happy: Finding Contentment and Connection in a Crazy World by Alli Worthington.
You do your best to live life well—you work hard to be present in the moment, take care of the people in your life, knock it out of the park at work and home. And yet somehow, you still have days (perhaps more than you'd like to admit) where you're simultaneously stressed and bored, and you wonder if you even know how to be happy. Is happiness a worthy goal? Does happiness matter to God, or does He only care about holier things?
Alli Worthington gets it. As a wife, mother of five boys, author, speaker, and entrepreneur, she knows a thing or two about being busy, stressed, and happy in the midst of a crazy world! Over the years, she's seen how happiness gets a bad rap in Christian circles, and now she is standing up to shout the good news from the roof (or the internet, as the case may be): You are allowed to be happy! Yes, you! You can be happy right now!
Get rid of the common Christian misconception that happiness is somehow not holy, and grasp God’s intention for His children—that happiness and holiness can coexist for a beautiful life.
