Friday Favorites {Field Trip Edition}

Dear Friday,

You make me smile!!
Happy Friday Friends
I hope you guys had a GREAT week!

We have had another busy week, but fun week!!
Monday, the kids were out of school for a Teacher Work Day,
so we went Strawberry Picking {more on that next week}!

Strawberries are a FAVORITE around here and so is a day off of school....
it was just a tease of Summer, which is our absolute FAVORITE time of year:)

Tuesday, I went on a Field Trip with Ian
The fact that he still "allowed" me to go on a Field Trip with him is my FAVORITE!

We went to the William Harris Homestead!
It was "A Day in the 19th Century"!

It was very informative, but 21st Century amenities are my FAVORITE:)

Here is a little peak into our trip!
We were in the original log cabin (circa 1825) that
the Harris Family lived in!
It has had a few repairs ;)
Listening to the history lesson
The kids got to see inside the cellar where they stored food
Candle Dipping
The Family Cemetery
Learning how they washed their clothes with the creek water!

{Thank you Lord for the washing machine & dryer}
Going on a hayride!
I think this was the kids FAVORITE part
Our driver!!;)
Selfies are Ian's FAVORITE.....NOT
Jayden got in on our selfie:)

His Momma is his FAVORITE...even though he would never admit it!
Learning the life of a Civil War Solider!

This was very interesting!

They got to see Shep the Border Collie herd the sheep!

I would have to say this was my FAVORITE part!
Shep did an awesome job!
Here is a little video of Shep

I didn't record it all, but he did "herd" the sheep into the pin!
Wednesday I spent the whole day working on Etsy Orders

I think my FAVORITE would have to be this mug!

I'm always putting on my lipstick and hustling :)
However, Customer FAVORITE are these...

I have made 9 of these cuties this week!
Last night, we celebrated this guy's 18th Birthday, next month we celebrate his graduation!
He was barely 2 months old when I graduated from high school!!!

Any time we can get together as a family is my FAVORITE!!

Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather!!

xoxo, Heather

Mason Jar Salads

This is a little stretch to be considered a recipe...
but let's pretend because I really like my graphic ;)

Today, I thought I would share a new FAVORITE of mine!

Not only do I like to throw some glitter on Mason Jars!
I love to eat out of them as well!

Mason Jar Salads

You will need:

Mason jar-
I used a 24oz wide mouth
Salad dressing-
I used Olive Gardens' light dressing
Veggies-
I used broccoli, cucumbers, and red bell peppers
Protein-
I used rotisserie chicken
Lettuce-
I used romaine and baby spinach
Cheese/Extras-
I used feta cheese and dried cranberries

Put your dressing in first

Add your veggies

Add your protein

Then cram in your lettuce
it will pack down in there:)

Then add your cheese and extras

Put on the seal and screw on the top!

Super Easy!
You could make these Sunday night for lunches and they will last all week!

When you are ready to eat
either shake it up really good in your jar
or pour it into a bowl!!

I made some on a Wednesday Afternoon and didn't eat one of them until the following Monday
and it was still so good!
It tasted like I made it that day!!

New Blog Name

My Blog has needed a "Face Lift" for awhile now!
 If I am being honest-
It has needed a make over ever since I started the Blog!

I am happy to introduce you guys to
My New Blog!

Not only did it get a facelift
It got a new NAME!

I have an Etsy Shop and it is called "Oh My Glitter Designs"

And if you are reading this then you know my blog had the same name!
However, my blog didn't just cover my creations!

The Blog was a mixture of family and creations!

So I thought it needed a name that combined my two loves!

Glitter and Family

So with the help of a few friends
I welcome you to....

My Glittery Heart!

Where I will take you on a journey of my
Glittery Creations and My Heart {Ben, Ian, Ella, and Duke}

What are your thoughts on the new blog name and look?

xoxo, Heather

Tuesday Talk {Weekend Recap}

Hope your week is off to a great start!

The kids were out of school yesterday, so we hit up the Strawberry Patch and "Pick Up" at Wal-Mart!
More on those topics later this week!

Today I want to talk about our weekend!

Friday was Ian's Field Day!

Like I mentioned on Friday's post,
5th grade field day was moved inside due to weather, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought:)

Field Day Fun:
They had to add hangers to a pole and see which team did it the fastest without the hangers falling off!!

Basketball Toss

Running to "stack the cups"

Stacking the cups

Musical Chairs

It came down to Ian and Jayden

Ian's partner had to bounce a ball off a mini trampoline and Ian had to catch the ball in a basket!!

Stacking the jars!

Good ole fashion hula hoop

Shakers

Tic Tac Toe

They had to balance the ball while balancing themselves!!

This was comical:)

Tug of war

He wouldn't let me take a selfie with just him, so we did a "groupie"
I'll take whatever I can get:)

After a long day at field day, we headed to Menchie's for an afternoon snack:)

Then I headed to the back deck in my LaLuRoe Leggings, Wine, and my Kindle!
Momma needed wine after 2 full days of field day:)
Of Course, Duke was right beside me

Saturday, the boys played in a golf tournament for our church
They WON!!
No, Ben didn't take any pictures:(

Miss. Priss and I stayed home and worked on some projects!
This is one of them!
Our American Flag pallet!

Sunday morning cuddles with Duke!

Coffee, quiet time, and Duke=happiness

Then we were off to church!
Ella was in a skit!
She played Mose's sister

She may have a future in acting;)

Then it was lunch and home to do laundry, empty the dishwasher, etc!
You know all the fun stuff:)

Have a great Tuesday friends!

xoxo, Heather
