Our Week with Touring GA Southern, Allergies Kicking Our Butts, and Duke Declining.

Hey Y'all! Happy Wednesday. I hope your week is going well. Ours has started off real heavy. We lost our sweet Duke on Monday. Our hearts are broken. I will share more next week but if you want to see a few pictures of our sweet Duke make sure to see my IG post.

I am recapping Monday, September 8th-14th.

Monday, September 8th-

Ian to work and taking care of the pups. While Myself, Ben, and Ella woke up in Statesboro to visit Georgia Southern University.

This was Ella at dinner at Del Sur in Statesboro on Sunday night.

Our tour started at 10:30.  Ella really liked the college.

After the tour was over, we grabbed lunch at Huey Magoo's before getting on the road to head home. GA Southern is about 3.5 hours away from home. We got home around 5:30. I ran to Publix to get stuff to make dog food. We ate leftover taco dip and salsa for dinner. Ella went to YL. We unpacked, I started laundry, showered, and curled up on the couch to wait for Ella to get home.

Tuesday, September 9th-

Ian to work, Ben to the office, Ella to school, and coffee and Jesus for me.  I started dog food cooking in the crockpot. I went to workout at Burn and walked with Keri.
When I got back from both this was Trixie.... Curled up snoring in Ella's bed.

I ran to Michaels, Target, and Publix. I cleaned Ella's bathroom, washed sheets, and towels. I worked on a blog post and meal planned.

Later that afternoon, look who came by for a visit...

Laurie, across the street, sweet granddaughter. She is so precious.

Later that evening when everyone got home, I made a salsa verde chicken and rice skillet meal for dinner. It was so good.

Once everyone was home, fed, kitchen cleaned up, and in bed. I curled up on the couch to scroll and read.

Wednesday. September 10th-

Ian to work, Ben to the office, and Ella to school.  I woke up feeling rough with allergies so I enjoyed a slow morning.  I did clean out the pantry and got it organized. I got ready and Ben picked me up to head to Legend's for him and Ian to play golf.

We were on the golf course when we heard the news about Charlie Kirk. Y'all I was/am devastated. Our world is pure evil. We also learned last week of a young lady who was stabbed on a train and another school shooting. No one and I mean no one deserves to die like the people that I just mentioned. I will say this....I do not like to get into politics on here or in this little space of mine but I do think it needs to be said. Just in case you want to unfollow me on socials or stop reading my blog. This is what I stand for.

I am a Republican.
I support Trump.
I support Charlie Kirks message.
I believe the assassination of Charlie Kirk is the start of something HUGE.
I believe every bit of mental health is the result of what we put in and on our bodies.
I believe our food and products are filled with chemicals that effect our whole bodies and brains and not in a good way.
I believe change begins in our homes.
I believe that no matter who is President of this great country will be able to change it all.
Again, I believe change begins in our homes.
I believe we can do better as parents.
I believe that we should be able to voice our opinions without being harmed.

Ok... enough of the heavy. oh wait its the eve of 9/11.

We ate together as a family at Legends. It was nice to all be together. Sometimes we all get so busy and going in all different directions so it was good to all be together.
We got home, showered, and curled into bed.

Thursday, September 11th-

Ian to work, Ben to the office, and coffee and Jesus for me. Ella slept in because hello allergies in GA.

I went to the spa for a facial and lunch.

It felt really weird to go to the spa on 9/11 and what happened on 9/10 but it did help me to reflect and quite my mind.

I got home that afternoon and made chicken parmesan sliders for dinner. They were so GOOD. I cleaned up, showered, and curled up on the couch.

Friday, September 12th-

Ian to work, Ben to the office, Ella off to school. Coffee and Jesus for me and then a workout at Burn with Leigh Anne.

After I worked out, I grabbed breakfast at CFA and then went to my 10am nail appointment.

I did things around the house, got ready, and then got ready for Ben and I to enjoy dinner at Longhorn before heading to the high school football game. We got home around 10:30, waited for Ella to get home, and then crashed.

Saturday, September 13th-

Ben and I got up and headed to Publix for stuff to make breakfast and a late lunch/dinner for the GA game.

Ben was making breakfast on the Blackstone and look at sweet Duke. At this point, he couldn't walk down or up our stairs. But he did enjoy being outside.

We had college game day on all morning plus we had football on all day on the back deck.

At 12, Ben put the pork tenderloin on to smoke. At 2, I finished making the side dishes for the tenderloin. We ate around 3:15 before the GA game was scheduled at 3:30 which kick off didn't happen until closer to 3:50.

Y'all that GAME!! Oh goodness. I'm sure everyone around else and a few counties over heard Ben yelling at the TV. 😂

But the DAWGS WON.

We continued to watch football. I cleaned up the kitchen, showered, put on my pjs, and curled up on the couch.
Ella went to Chase's cross country race. Then to his house to watch the game and to dinner for his birthday. She got home, packed a bag, and headed to Aubrey's to spend the night.

Sunday, September 14th-

Boys headed to the golf course and I headed to my chair for coffee and Jesus. Ella slept in at Aubrey's. I got Duke to go outside and gave him his medicine but then he had a hard time settling back down.

I took this picture because I knew I was calling the vet on Monday morning and I wanted to be able to show the vet how he was standing.

He finally settled and I watched church online.

I was lazy the rest of the day because I wanted to be with Duke as much as possible. Both of the kids loved on him because Monday morning was unknown at the time.

I left Duke downstairs where he seemed most comfortable. I woke up several times through out the night to check on him and he was in the same place.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, We lost our sweet Duke on Monday. 😭
