Raising Barnes

Mondays, Mochas, & Motivation

Cheers to another week!

Who needs a little motivation this morning!!

As always, I was searching Pinterest for Motivation and Organization tips!!

I can across this pin and it just "spoke" to me!

I always have big plans to get so much accomplished in a day!

I really liked the tips that Sarah shared!

I will give you the highlights, but you can read the blog post here

Make sure you are getting enough rest

I am guilty of not always following this tip. I have been known to stay up till 1-2 o'clock in the morning, still working on my "to-do" list!

Make lists

This tip I have mastered....sometimes I swear my list have list!! ;)
and I have been known to misplace my lists!

Turn your phone to silent during times you need to get stuff done

Guilty-- I really need to do this! I will hear an email 'bing" and just have to check it, or Facebook messenger, or an Instagram notification, Etsy conversation, etc
You get my point!
I need to set a specific time to check all my social media outlets!

The average person spends 3.5 hours on social media a day

I think this could probably tie in with the above....most of the  notifications I get on my phone are for social media apps!
3.5 hours...really! Just think of what you could get done in 3.5 hours!!

Don’t over book yourself

Oh my gosh this is so ME!! I am a person that hates to say NO when someone ask me for a favor
I really do need to work on this because when I overbook myself I am worthless to my family and they should be my #1 priority!
But of course, we all want to feel like SUPERMOM!!

Clean it up

This was one of my February Goals!
I have been really good at follow this goal!

I realize that if my work space is messy then I feel so unorganized and overwhelmed
SO each night I try to make sure everything is picked up and in its place! and not just in my craft room but the whole house as well!!

Work smarter, not harder

I am always try to think new ways to
help my little business grow

Coming up with new creations

working on ideas to help my household run smoother!
Because us mommas make our houses run!!
#factoflife

Keep a small notepad and pen with you at all times

I do keep a little notepad in my purse! not only for ideas and grocery items, but for the kids to doodle on when boredom strikes;)
But with this day in age, the little "notes" on mu iPhone is heavenly!!

Keep a schedule

How many times have we been told that consistency is the key?!?!
how many times do we fail to take this advice
#guilty

I do try to start each week with what I hope to accomplish, meals planned, etc!
Most weeks I accomplish those goals, but not always;)

Here is my
Mondays, Mochas, and Motivation Board

Follow OhMyGlitter's board Mondays, Mochas, & Motivation on Pinterest.

So go grab a cup of joe and get this week started!!

Hope you accomplish your daily to-do list!!

What else do you do to get more done during the day?!?!
Share your ideas in the comments!

Happy Monday Friends

xoxo, Heather

Friday Favorites {Spring Edition}

Today I am linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea

Oh Friday how I heart you!!

I am SO LOOKING forward to SPRING!

So Today I thought I would share some of my FAVORITE Spring things...

I am so ready to plant my pots on my porches

The Growers Outlets is my FAVORITE place to pick out flowers!

For all of my local peeps...check out their website
They have the best prices and they even list their availability on the website!!

Yellow Box Flip Flops....
I love when the weather warms up and my feet can "breathe"
I bet I have 15 pairs of their flip flops

Yellow Box are my FAVORITE flip flops!

Just check out their new spring/summer line!

I think these need to get into my collection ASAP

I didn't even realize that Yellow Box had this type of wedge!! :)
The fact that they are on sale from $69 to $45 is just a NO BRAINER! because we all know a sale is my FAVORITE!! Not to mention that I have been looking for a good wedge! And they are Yellow Box, so they have to be comfortable

But I ordered these for $26.50...let's see how they compare

New Scents at Bath and Body Works....

I mean just look at this picture!

I need to get to a Bath & Body Works ASAP

I think my new FAVORITE will be Vanilla Bean Marshmallow!

If I am home, I have a candle burning!

I will let you know:)

Loosing an hour of the day is not necessarily my FAVORITE, but changing those clocks means spring is right around the corner and warmer weather is my FAVORITE

I love when it gets dark later in the day!!

Spring Cleaning.....yes I know that is weird and no I am not crazy!
ok maybe a little;)

But getting to clean out and clean everything!
Making those baseboards shine and the windows sparkle...
just makes my heart go pitter patter!!

I always make a Spring Cleaning List
I generally find a few on Pinterest
combine the ideas and type my own:)

I "pinned" all of these list and a few others on my Cleaning Board

Easter

I would prefer Easter to be in April because the weather tends to be a little warmer;) but hey beggars can't be choosy right ;)

But Easter brings a whole new meaning!

To know that our Lord and Savior died on a cross for OUR sins and rose again after 3 days is breathtaking!

Easter is a time of rejoicing, rebirth, and renewal!

It's not a coincidence that flowers sprout from the ground, or that grass turns green, or that leaves appear on trees near Easter! Our Lord and Savior played a very important role:)
HE ROSE AGAIN!!

Happy Friday Friends!

I hope your week has been fabulous!

Have a GREAT weekend!
See you Monday for

xoxo, Heather

Thoughts for Thursday {recipe}

Good Morning Friends!

Today I am linking up with Annie and Natalie

Today, I thought I would share one of my family's favorite recipes!

Ritz Cracker Chicken
(serves 4)

My Mother in Law shared this recipe with me because her Mother in Law shared it with her!
Since it is one of Ian's favorite meals maybe one day I will share it with my daughter in law :)

Ingredients:

4 boneless skinless chicken breast
2 sleeves of ritz crackers
2 cups of parmesan cheese
1 cup of vegetable oil
course ground pepper (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

crush the ritz crackers (I do this while they are still in the sleeve)
Crush them really good

Pour the crushed crackers into a bowl and add the parmesan cheese
stir together

My chicken, oil, and cracker/cheese mix

Dip each chicken breast in the oil

Then roll the chicken around in the cracker/cheese mixture

Make sure the chicken is throughly covered with the
cracker/cheese mix and place on a cookie sheet
I then will scoop a handful of the mixture and put on top of each piece of chicken!

I then sprinkle course ground pepper on top of the chicken!

Place in the oven for about 30 minutes or so
until the chicken is cooked through out

The crackers
 should be a golden brown

I did not get a picture of the chicken when I
pulled it out of the oven because my kids were "starving"
You know because I never feed them ;)

Hope you enjoy!

This chicken is our Christmas dinner meal....like I said it is a family favorite

xoxo, Heather

Week{end}

Happy Hump Day!!

Today I am recapping this past Week{end}! We had lots of fun!

Friday night we stayed home and made pizza using my new Pizza Maker! This guy was awesome! And super fast! I made individual size pizza so everyone could pick their own toppings!
The kids really enjoyed that part!

While I was making Pizza', Ben and his co-worker, Ben was putting together this bad boy!

So Saturday morning, the boys hit the golf course and the girls set out for a day of mani's and pedi's and antique shopping!

AWWWWWWW....... So nice!

After the nail salon, it was off to some antique stores!

Ella said "what kind of cd's are these" ;)

There not cd's baby girl! They are records!

She loves antiquing with Mommy and Grammy!

Saturday night, Ben put the Big green egg to the test!

An it DID NOT disappoint!! I can't wait for many more cookouts using the new grill!

Sunday morning, Ella sang in church!

They did such an awesome job!!

Sunday night, it was back to night church!! We started stuffing Easter eggs for our annual egg hunt!

That is not even a dent in the bags of eggs we have to stuff

Monday- I was able to put out this sign!

I was beyond thrilled to show my support for our Sheriff!

Last- I am working on reopening my Etsy Shop!

I hope to have it up and running by Frday!

Happy Wednesday friends!! Hope y'all are having a great week so far!!

xoxo, Heather

Show and Tell Tuesday {My Hometown}

Today I am linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday

My Hometown Edition!

I am from the great state of Georgia!

I was born and raised in Georgia!
Georgia is HOME!

I even made a mason jar...

Nothing screams Southern Belle like a mason Jar ;)

Ben and I made Bethlehem, GA our home in August 2003

When we first moved to Bethlehem...the only thing near our house was this
Shell Station

In 2008, the Barrow Crossing development started and it was like the HEAVENS opened up! I no longer had to travel to Winder to grocery shop....Winder is a whole 15 minutes away;)

In Spring of 2009, the shops started opening....

Target and Belk were first...I mean Target is my home away from home:)

and it has a Starbucks right when you walk in (insert heart eye emoji)

Soon after Publix, Michael's and Staples opened (Staples is now closed)

The Little Town of Bethlehem is really growing now....we are the last major stop on 316 before you get the Athens, GA~ GO DAWGS!!

The Gate Way is also a new development...

We even have a movie theater

We really are growing up in the world:)

We have lots of other developments and lots more coming!!

We have felt very blessed to be raising our children in Bethlehem, GA!
We love the feel of a small town, but the connivence of all the local shops and restaurants!!

But let's not forget to mention that we have a Chick-fil-a, so all is right in my part of the world!

hehe!

and last but certainly not least....1,000 of people come from all over the state and surrounding states to mail their Christmas cards from Bethlehem...

just so they can stamp this stamp on their cards..

"Christmas Greetings from Bethlehem" with the Naivety scene!!

Here is the link to My Little Town of Bethlehem

I love that in the actual downtown area, the street names are:
Manger Ave
Star Street
Christmas
David Ave
Joseph Street
Mary Ave

Of course, Bethlehem is most active at Christmas time with a LIVE Naivety scene!!

I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into my hometown!!

I can't believe "The Little Town of Bethlehem" is growing up ;)

xoxo,

Heather
